WELCOME TO BBQ MAGAZINE ONLINE!

We are located on the Central Coast of California (Pismo Beach).  We are 15 miles to the north of world famous Santa Maria (Santa Maria Style BBQ).  We also boast the home of Tri Tip.  The purpose of our site is to bring together BBQ recipes from around the world and share them for free with everyone.  We usually BBQ 4 or 5 times a week and are experimenting with different woods and recipes.  Please create a free account and enter your favorite BBQ sauce, recipe, rub, side dish, or just whatever you think would be a helpful part of our site.  If you enter a recipe I promise I will try it and let you know how it turned out. Ingredients:

  • 1/3 Cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • 3/4 Cup Tomatoe paste
  • 1 1/3 Cups water
  • 1/2 Tsp. Celery seeds
  • 1 Tsp. Thyme
  • 3 Tbsp. Red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp.Sugar
  • 1 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 Tsp. Pepper
  • Pinch of Cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions:

  • Saute chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil in a small saucepan until tender and golden.  About 15 minutes.
  • Add tomatoe paste and water and blend well.  Add celery seeds, thyme, vinegar, mustard, cinnamon and sugar. Season with salt, pepper and cayenne to taste.
  • Simmer, partially covered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Taste, correct seasoning if necessary, cover, and refrigerate until ready to use.

Makes 2 cups
