WELCOME TO BBQ MAGAZINE ONLINE!

We are located on the Central Coast of California (Pismo Beach).  We are 15 miles to the north of world famous Santa Maria (Santa Maria Style BBQ).  We also boast the home of Tri Tip.  The purpose of our site is to bring together BBQ recipes from around the world and share them for free with everyone.  We usually BBQ 4 or 5 times a week and are experimenting with different woods and recipes.  Please create a free account and enter your favorite BBQ sauce, recipe, rub, side dish, or just whatever you think would be a helpful part of our site.  If you enter a recipe I promise I will try it and let you know how it turned out. This is a great sandwich with many different flavors and colors.
Banh Me Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 3 Chicken breast (roasted or BBQ) seasoned with salt and pepper 
  • 1/2 lb. daikon (peeled)
  • 1 large carrot (peeled)
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar (not seasoned)
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 French baguettes
  • 1 tbsp Asian fish sauce
  • 1/2 lb liverworst
  • 2 fresh cucumbers (thinly sliced)
  • 2 -3 fresh jalapenos (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 red onion (diced)
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp Hoisen sauce

Directions:

  • Grate daikon and carrot and place in a small bowl.
  • Mix rice vinegar and sugar and pour over daikon / carrot slaw and set aside.
  • Mix mayonnaise and hoisen sauce (add a little hot pepper sauce if you like) and set aside.
  • Dice cooked chicken.
  • Make thin slices on liverworst.
  • Split and toast the baguettes.
  • Spread the hoisen mayo on the baguette.
  • Next lay down strips of liverworst, cucumbers, jalapenos, and red onion.
  • Add cooked chicken breast, chopped cilantro and daikon slaw.
  • Top with hot pepper sauce (optional).
