WELCOME TO BBQ MAGAZINE ONLINE!

We are located on the Central Coast of California (Pismo Beach).  We are 15 miles to the north of world famous Santa Maria (Santa Maria Style BBQ).  We also boast the home of Tri Tip.  The purpose of our site is to bring together BBQ recipes from around the world and share them for free with everyone.  We usually BBQ 4 or 5 times a week and are experimenting with different woods and recipes.  Please create a free account and enter your favorite BBQ sauce, recipe, rub, side dish, or just whatever you think would be a helpful part of our site.  If you enter a recipe I promise I will try it and let you know how it turned out. Use as a table sauce on pork, beef, and chicken, or in baked beans.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup finely chopped Onion
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 2 Cups Ketchup
  • 1/2 Cup Bourbon (divided)
  • 1/4 Cup Raspberry Vinegar
  • 1/4 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. Moleasses
  • 2 Tbsp. Prepared Mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 Tsp. Fresh Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/4 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 Tsp. Liquid Smoke

Directions:

  • In a medium saucepan heat the oil.
  • Add the onion and garlic and saute until tender.
  • Add the ketchup, 1/4 cup bourbon, vinegar, Worcestershire, moleasses, mustard, soy sauce, hot sauce black pepper and cayenne.
  • Mix well and add liquid smoke.
  • Simmer for at least 20 minutes and don't let burn.
  • Remove from heat and add the remaining 1/4 cup bourbon.

This sauce will keep for a few weeks in the fridge.
Makes 3 1/2 cups.
