Alex's in Shell Beach California has been cooking killer BBQ ribs since I can remember.  We used to go there when I was a young kid.  My good friend Bill found a clone of Alex's famous BBQ sauce.  This might have even come from a disgruntaled employee.  Give it a try.

Ingredients:

  • 32 Ounces Heinz Catsup
  • 8 Ounces Brown Sugar (Firmly Packed)
  • 8 Ounces Grape Jelly
  • 4 Ounces White Vinegar
  • 2 Tsp. Prepared Mustard
  • 1 TBSP Liquid Smoke
  • 2 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
  • 8 Drops Tabasco Sauce

Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients
  • Heat slowly and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Cool and serve.

This is better if you make it the day before.  Refrigerate and save for up to 1 week.

Enjoy!
