WELCOME TO BBQ MAGAZINE ONLINE!

We are located on the Central Coast of California (Pismo Beach).  We are 15 miles to the north of world famous Santa Maria (Santa Maria Style BBQ).  We also boast the home of Tri Tip.  The purpose of our site is to bring together BBQ recipes from around the world and share them for free with everyone.  We usually BBQ 4 or 5 times a week and are experimenting with different woods and recipes.  Please create a free account and enter your favorite BBQ sauce, recipe, rub, side dish, or just whatever you think would be a helpful part of our site.  If you enter a recipe I promise I will try it and let you know how it turned out. Ingredients:

  • 1 Fat Trimmed Beef Rib Eye Steak (Spencer Steak) Cut 2" Thick (About 1 1/2 - 2 lbs.)
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 4 Tbsp Real Butter (1/2 Stick)
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Dry White Wine
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Beef Broth
  • 1/2 Cup Grated Gruyere or Swiss Cheese
  • 2 Tbsp Grated Parmesean Cheese
  • 1 Tsp High Quality Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Directions:

  • Slice onion in to small strips.
  • In a medium saucepan saute onions, butter, wine and sugar for about 10 minutes or until tender.
  • Remove from heat and add the 1 1/2 Tsp flour and mix well.
  • Add milk and beef broth and return to heat.
  • Heat to boiling and turn off heat. 
  • Add Cheese and mix.
  • Place steak on a hot BBQ.
  • Grill each side for a few minutes to get a good color.
  • Make a foil boat and place steak inside.
  • POur 1/2 cup of the broth in the boat.
  • Place French Onions over steak.
  • Add the rest of the cheese on top and place back on BBQ until the steak is cooked to your liking.
